Cambodia-China to Hold Larger Golden Dragon Military Exercise 2019 “Counter-terrorism and Humanitarian Relief”


Phnom Penh , Dec. 26 – Cambodia-China, the ironclad friends, held a meeting Wednesday to discuss the hosting of Golden Dragon Military Exercise in 2019.

According to Ith Sarath, deputy commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, the Exercise will be held in March 2019 in Kampot’s Chol Kiri district, under the theme “Counter-terrorism and Humanitarian Relief”.

2019 will mark the third Golden Dragon Military Exercise between China and Cambodia, following the first in 2016 and the second in 2018 in which it grew bigger every time.

Golden Dragon Military Exercise aims to exchange experience in counterterrorism and rescuing people during disasters, particularly maintain peace and security, according to the General. Both sides will also share experience road repairs, mines and UXO clearance, bridge construction, and resettlement of disaster victims.
