Construction Of Nearly-US$50-Million Cambodia-China Friendship Thbong Khmum Hospital Begins


Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, presided over this morning the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Cambodia-China Friendship Thbong Khmum Hospital in Thbong Khmum province.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Wang Wentian was also on hand.

According to H.E. Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health, the construction would last 40 months and cost around US$45.66 million. Located on an area of 24,300 square metres, the 300-bed hospital will be equipped with up-to-date medical equipment.

Once finished, the Cambodia-China Friendship Thbong Khmum Hospital will become a regional hospital serving the people of Kratie, Rattanakiri, Stung Treng and Mondulkiri provinces.

This is the second big project funded by the Government of China after Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital in Phnom Penh whose groundbreaking ceremony took place in October last year.
