His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and Her Majesty the Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport this afternoon for their routine medical checkup in China.
The monarchs left Cambodia this morning at around 9:00 and were seen off upon their departure at the airport by Cambodian top leaders including Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate; Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly; Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, as well as many senior officials, royal family members and representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia.
According to a royal message yesterday, during the King’s absence, Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum will act as the Acting Head of State.
Their Majesties the King and the Queen-Mother undergo their routine medical checkup in China every six months.
