Samdech Hun Sen Departs for 75th Session of UN-ESCAP


Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen left here this morning for Thailand to attend the 75th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP) held in Bangkok today, at the invitation of H.E. Dr. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the UN-ESCAP.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the UN-ESCAP’s 75th Session will be held under the theme “Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality”.

In recognition of Cambodia’s remarkable achievements in its economic and social development, UN-ESCAP has extended the invitation to Samdech Techo Prime Minister to deliver a key note address in the Opening Session focusing on Cambodia’s experiences in socio-economic development thereby improving the quality of life of all Cambodian people, underlined the press release.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister was accompanied by H.E. Senior Minister Ly Thuch, President of the National Committee for Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women’s Affairs, and other senior government officials.
