Cambodia Seeks More Tourism Investments with U.S.-ASEAN Business Council


Cambodia has asked U.S.-ASEAN Business Council to help encourage more investors to invest in tourism, especially in the tourism community and eco-tourism in the country.

The request was made by H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism in a recent virtual meeting.

H.E. Thong Khon underlined Cambodia’s tourism potentials, very favourable for foreign investors, including the member countries of the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council.

The minister also proposed a joint cooperation in containing and preventing the spread of COVID-19 to foster an investment environment.

The virtual meeting was organised to discuss ideas for prevention of COVID-19 spread and adopt a tourism coordination plan to restore the industry when the pandemic eases.

The meeting was also attended by Google, Visa, Agoda, Expedia Group and Airbnb that are also members of the council.
