Korean National Assembly President To Visit Cambodia In November


Korean National Assembly (NA) President H.E. Park Byeong-seug will pay an official visit to Cambodia in November this year, the purpose of which is to strengthen the cooperation between both countries’ legislative body.

The information was shared by H.E. Park Heung-Kyeong, newly-appointed Korean Ambassador to Cambodia while paying a courtesy visit to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of Cambodian NA, here this morning.

The visit of the Korean NA president to Cambodia in earlier November this year is to strengthen and enhance further cooperation between the legislative body of the two countries, H.E. Park Heung-Kyeong said.

Samdech Heng Samrin affirmed the Cambodian NA’s readiness to welcome the upcoming important visit of H.E. Park Byeong-seug.

Moreover, Samdech Heng Samrin spoke highly of the good relationship and cooperation between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea.

The Republic of Korea has played key role in developing Cambodia such as infrastructure, health, and rural development, noted the Cambodian NA president.

He also asked the Korean side to increase the quota of recruiting Cambodian workers to work in South Korea. Currently, there are some 40,000 Cambodian migrant workers in the country.

Figures from the Korean Embassy show that the bilateral trade between both nations reached over US$1 billion in 2019 and Korean investment in the Kingdom ranks second with a total capital of more than US$5 billion in the same year.
