Singapore Vows to Help Strengthen Human Resource Development in Cambodia

Singapore is committed to continue assisting Cambodia in strengthening the labour sector and human resource development in order to better respond to the rapid technological advance in the region and the world.

The commitment was made by outgoing Singaporean Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Michael Tan Keng Siong while paying a farewell visit to Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, H.E. Ith Samheng in Phnom Penh this morning.

H.E. Ambassador highlighted the Government and Embassy of Singapore’s endeavour to contribute to vocational and technical trainings of Cambodians, indicating that Cambodian trainees like to study at their own workplace, which is a special point for a better capacity building.

For his part, H.E. Ith Samheng recalled Singapore’s assistance in providing technical skills for Cambodian trainers and trainees as well as in ensuring safety and health of workers at workplace.

H.E. Minister also expressed Cambodia’s intention to continue its cooperation with Singapore, particularly in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), which plays a key role in the country development.
