Sinopharm Authorised for Emergecy Use in Cambodia


The Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia has issued an Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) for China-made Sinopharm vaccine.

According to the ministry’s approval made public this afternoon, Sinopharm, manufactured by Beijing Institute of Biological Product Co., Ltd. of the People’s Republic of China, has been authorised under an EUA, in accordance with the protocol on the Royal Government’s vaccination campaign.

Some 600,000 of the 1,000,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines donated by China will arrive in Cambodia on Feb. 7.

A high-level Cambodian delegation led by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen will receive the vaccine at Phnom Penh International Airport.

The Premier will be the first volunteer to be vaccinated against COVID-19, on Feb. 10 at Calmette Hospital.
