KOICA Cambodia Office will provide training for the Cambodian government officials selected for the 1st year online training of the 3-year country-focused training on “Capacity Development Programme for National School of Local Administration (Cambodia)”.
The training will be held online from June 8 to 14, 2021, pointed out a press release of KOICA.
According to the same source, the goal of this programme is to strengthen the capacity of Cambodian local government officials by sharing Korea’s experience in Human Resource Development (HRD) & Human Resources Management (HRM) systems.
The 1st year aimed to improve the participant’s awareness of the importance of the government officials training, and to develop the effective Action Plan based on the policy analysis of Cambodia with Case Report while the 2nd year programme is designed to enhance the capacity of Trainers of National School of Local Administration (NASLA) including curriculum design & development, teaching methodology etc., and to develop the Action Plan based on the analysis of current status of NASLA with Case Report. Lastly, the 3rd year programme is to provide feedback about the Action Plan implementation by reviewing the teaching demonstration, to share Korea’s experience and know-how of the management & operation of government officials training institute, and to develop the final Action Plan based on the progress of the 1st and 2nd year one.
This programme attracted 22 participants from the Ministry of Interior (MoI) including Training Department, Personnel Department, Sub National Administration (SNA) from Rattanakiri, Pursat, Kampong Cham, Banteay Meanchey, Koh Kong, Kampong Thom, and Siem Reap provinces. Among the 22 participants, 6 are deputy governors from the provinces of Rattanakiri, Pursat, Kampong Cham, Banteay Meanchey, Koh Kong, and Kampong Thom.
With a mission to support human resources development (HRD) in partner countries, KOICA works in several technical areas on various programmes and projects that substantially impact Cambodia’s development such as improving students’ nutrition and wellbeing, strengthening teacher capacity, public health, agriculture and health’s infrastructure, and innovation. Furthermore, KOICA has been dispatched more than 760 WFK (World Friends Korea) volunteers and invited around 3,100 government officers to participate in short-term training and a Master’s degree programme in Korea.
