Over 70% Cambodians Vaccinated against COVID-19


Some 70.57 percent of Cambodia’s total population of 16 million have so far been inoculated against the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the figures shared by National Ad-hoc Commission for COVID-19 Vaccination.

As of Sept. 6, for the target of 10 million adults, 9,608,679 people have obtained their first jab, or 96.09 percent, among them 8,439,230 have been fully vaccinated.

For the children-youth aged 12 to under 18 years old, 1,682,786 or 85.55 percent of the nearly two-million target have received their first dose, while 561,893 already got the second dose.

Besides, 680,353 booster doses have been administered to frontline officials, senior officials, civil servants, local officials, and people aged 60 years and older as well as officials of UN agencies, foreign embassies and national and international organisations in Cambodia.

Cambodia has currently some 29.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from purchases and donations: 7.8 million doses of Sinopharm, 19 million doses of Sinovac, 1,739,000 doses of AstraZeneca, and 1,064,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson.

Until Sept. 6 morning, there were 95,828 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cambodia, of which 91,131 have recovered and 1,970 have lost their lives.
