Cambodia and India have spoken highly of the long-lasting relations and good cooperation in all sectors between the two countries, particularly between their legislative bodies.
Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Cambodian Senate and visiting H.E. Jagdeep Dhankhar, Vice President of the Republic of India and Chairman of the Indian Senate, made the appreciation in their meeting here in Phnom Penh on Nov. 12.
Samdech Say Chhum extended warm welcome and thanks to the Indian vice president and his delegation for their participation in the 19th ASEAN-India Summit in Cambodia, adding that it reflects India’s support for Cambodia’s role as the ASEAN Chair.
This presence will, continued the Cambodian senate president, not only contribute to further promoting the intimate relations in ASEAN-India partnership, but also to strengthening the bilateral ties, solidarity and cooperation between the two nations and peoples.
Samdech Say Chhum also recalled the Indian government’s assistance to Cambodia’s development in all domains, especially in education, technology, temple conservation and beyond.
Cambodia and India established their diplomatic relations in 1952.
