Royal Government to Support Vocational Training for 1.5 Million Disadvantaged Youth


Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said the Royal Government of Cambodia will further support vocational training for 1.5 million youth from poor and vulnerable families to build the labour force’s capacity.

Addressing to the graduation ceremony of almost 7,000 students of the Cambodian University for Specialties (CUS), held at Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said all of them will get scholarships, including tuition fees and allowances.

“We have to help them in order to integrate informal and formal economic activities,” he underlined.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen laid stress on the potential of Cambodian younger population and the necessity to invest on their capacity development for the national development.

Approximately 60 percent of Cambodia’s population are under the age of 25. This young population have the potential to contribute to the country’s development and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
