PM’s Special Attention to Injured Athletes

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has ordered the Ministry of Health to arrange for the treatment of injured athletes, particularly footballers and boxers, at the Techo Santepheap National Hospital.

On his official social media network this morning, Samdech Techo Prime Minister wrote that some athletes had been injured in competitions, especially football and boxing. It is difficult for them to get treatment at public and private hospitals, including the financial hardship, he adding, stressing that his wife often provides financial support for the treatment of some boxers.

The Premier continued that this morning, he discussed with Minister of Health H.E. Mam Bunheng and Secretary of State for Health H.E. Ms. Yuok Sambath to prepare a place of about 100 to 200 beds for the treatment of injured athletes at the Techo Santepheap National Hospital.

“The treatment is free of charge and must be adequately specialised according to the nature of the injuries,” he underlined.

The Ministry of Health is required to arrange the place as soon as possible, especially for the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games to be hosted by Cambodia in May and June this year, respectively.
