PM Concerned about Safety of Six Cambodian Muslims Stranded in Sudan

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has expressed his concern over the safety of six Cambodian Muslims who have been stuck in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.

While he and his spouse, Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen were presiding over the inauguration ceremony of religious achievements in Preah Baromei Vongkat Borei padoda, in Phnom Penh this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said Senior Minister in charge of Special Mission H.E. Othman Hassan will continue to follow closely the situation, and in case Malaysian authorities evacuate their citizens, they will also help the six Cambodian Muslims in Khartoum.

Currently, different countries have been evacuating their respective diplomats and citizens as Khartoum has been falling in bloody power struggle.

The armed clashes, which erupted on April 15, 2023, have killed more than 400 people and injured thousands of others, as UN has warned that up to 20,000 people – mostly women and children – have fled Sudan to seek safety in Chad, across the border from Darfur.
