A delegation of Tsinghua University, led by its President Professor LI Luming, has expressed its intention to form education cooperation with Cambodian higher educational institutions (HEIs), particularly on joint training programmes.
The Chinese delegation was received here on Nov. 7 by H.E. Dr. HANG Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports.
On the occasion, Professor LI Luming highly valued the activeness of Cambodian students at the Tsinghua University, detailing that among the 17 Cambodian students, 14 are pursuing their postgraduate studies.
In reply, H.E. Dr. HANG Chuon Naron welcomed the aforementioned cooperation, and pledged to provide support and facilitation for all kinds of education cooperation initiatives in contribution to Cambodian human resource development and training to attain Cambodia’s vision for an upper middle-income economy by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050.
The minister thanked the Tsinghua University for always paying attention to increasing cooperation with HEIs in Cambodia, and asked the Chinese university to take into consideration the possibility of increasing cooperation in joint HEI training programmes with Cambodian prominent public education institutions, and providing Cambodian students with more scholarships.
