Ministry of Tourism, SDC Discuss Tourism Cooperation


Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. HUOT Hak received here on Feb. 5 a courtesy call from Mr. Reto Grueninger, Director of Cooperation, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), to discuss opportunities for tourism cooperation.

In the meeting, H.E. Minister and Mr. Reto Grueninger discussed promoting tourism vocational training by implementing the Skills Development Programme Phase II 2024-2028, developing tourism national qualifications, enhancing assessment and recognition including RPL, and supporting Afro-food processing in the tourism value chains.

SDC committed their continuous support to the minister’s initiative for the five pillars of cooperation, and ongoing collaboration in Hospitality Kampuchea (HoKa) training programme in which 3,520 disadvantaged youths, dropout, and hospitality owners/managers in 12 target provinces gone through HoKa training programme.

The Skills Development Programme (SDP) implemented by Swiss contact and the Decent Employment for Youths (DEY) implemented by ILO and UNIDO have contributed to promoting tourism vocational skills, decent job for youths, increasing income and enhancing tourism services in accordance with National and ASEAN Standards.
