Productivity Improvement Advocated at Cambodia’s Economic Outlook 2025


H.E. HEM Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, has called for policy adjustments to boost productivity and drive Cambodia’s economic transformation and diversification.

H.E. Minister made the call during a panel discussion at the Cambodia Outlook Conference 2025, organised here on Mar. 4 by the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) under the theme “Cambodia’s New Growth Strategy: Priorities for High Quality and Sustainable Development.”

H.E. HEM Vanndy emphasised the critical role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and their integration into foreign direct investment (FDI) supply chains. He highlighted the need to enhance productivity through skill development, technology adoption, and machinery upgrades.

In addition, he called for policy adjustments to accelerate the adoption of automation, ensuring that Cambodian industries remain competitive in an evolving global market, and urged the financial sector to back this pivot.
