Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Honorary President of the Cambodia Kantha Bopha Foundation, hosted an informal gathering on June 16 with 60 prominent social media influencers and 30 artists from Baramey Production at Raffles Hotel Le Royal.
The event was held to express gratitude for their contributions to promoting the foundation’s 2025 fundraising campaign, “10,000 Riel (US$ 2.5), 10,000 People.”
Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet conveyed warm greetings and words of appreciation on behalf of Prime Minister Hun Manet to both groups, thanking them for their active role in mobilising support and public awareness for the cause. She emphasised that their collective efforts are an important demonstration of national solidarity and compassion, reinforcing the Khmer spirit of helping one another.
She also highlighted the critical role the Kantha Bopha Foundation plays in supporting the Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospitals, which were founded by Cambodian Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen.
These hospitals provide essential medical care to impoverished children from across Cambodia, with daily operating costs reaching approximately US$120,000 — totaling over US$43 million annually.
This marks the second year that Dr. Chanmony has been actively involved in fundraising efforts for the foundation. She noted the campaign’s remarkable momentum in 2025: within just 16 days, over 250,000 individuals contributed, raising more than US$4 million as of June 16.
Representatives from the influencer and artist communities expressed pride in supporting the campaign, recognising the profound impact their involvement can have on the lives of Cambodian children.
They shared a common belief in the importance of the Khmer value of mutual aid — that Cambodians must help fellow Cambodians, especially those in daily need of medical care.
In her closing remarks, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet extended heartfelt thanks to everyone involved — influencers, artists, journalists, content creators, and especially the foundation’s operational team — for their unwavering dedication. She also commended the team for their creative fundraising initiatives, including weekly community-driven events that have helped sustain public engagement.
“This is a noble cause that unites us all,” she said. “Through the Kantha Bopha Foundation, we witness the true strength of solidarity in saving the lives of children — the future of our nation.”
