Venerable Such Expresses Gratitude to Cambodian Royal Government and People for Warm Welcome

Venerable Such has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia, led by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, as well as to the Cambodian people, for their warm and respectful welcome for him to reside in the Kingdom.

Venerable Such’s message of thanks follows a public statement issued on the evening of June 19, by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, who reaffirmed Cambodia’s open-door policy to all Cambodians facing discrimination abroad.

“As the Head of the Royal Government of Cambodia, and in my personal capacity, I extend a warm welcome to Venerable Such at any time,” the Prime Minister wrote. “This invitation is not limited to Venerable Such alone, but is extended to any monk, nun, or Cambodian citizen who is subjected to discrimination or marginalisation simply because of their Khmer identity, or because they voiced support for justice, dignity, and the rightful protection of Cambodia’s territorial integrity.”

The Prime Minister further emphasised that such individuals are always welcome to return and reside in Cambodia, where they will be embraced without fear of persecution or discrimination. He assured that the Royal Government of Cambodia would not deport or hand over any Cambodian national to a foreign country under such circumstances.

The Royal Government and the Cambodian people continue to uphold a spirit of compassion and unity, offering refuge and dignity to their compatriots at all times.
