The Commission for the Preparation of Documents for Submission to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the areas of Mom Bei, Ta Moan Thom Temple, Ta Moan Tauch Temple, and Ta Krabei Temple held its inaugural meeting this morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC).
The meeting, chaired by H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of MFAIC, focused on the ongoing border disputes with Thailand in the aforementioned areas.
According to the MFAIC, the meeting also reviewed the Commission’s current progress and outlined its strategy and work plan to ensure the successful preparation and submission of necessary documentation.
On June 16, 2025, the Royal Government of Cambodia officially submitted its request to the ICJ for intervention in resolving the disputes in these four sensitive areas. The submission was delivered to ICJ Registrar Philippe Gautier by H.E. Ms. Kimsour Sovannary, Cambodian Ambassador to the Netherlands.
The Royal Government of Cambodia has consistently reiterated its commitment to resolving the dispute through peaceful and legal means via the ICJ, following the failure of bilateral mechanisms to produce a solution.
