Cambodia and the U.S. have discussed bilateral health cooperation to improve the health and well-being of the Cambodian people.
The discussion took place in a recent meeting at the ministry between H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra, Cambodian Minister of Health (MoH), and Ms. Bridgette L. Walker, Acting Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy to Cambodia.
H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra thanked the U.S. government and people for their continued support to the Cambodian health sector through agencies such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
He also highlighted Cambodia’s key health priorities to support vulnerable Cambodian populations, particularly those aimed at reducing tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV/AIDS transmission.
Ms. Bridgette L. Walker also thanked MoH for its continued support for various U.S. initiatives, reaffirming the U.S. commitment to continuing cooperation with the Cambodian government in the health sector.
