The 22nd ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting (ACDFM-22), held under the theme “ASEAN Unity for Security and Prosperity,” concluded in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sept. 10, 2025.
The gathering brought together the Chiefs of Defence Forces from all ten ASEAN member states, along with the Deputy Chief of Defence Force of Timor-Leste as an observer.
During the meeting, H.E. General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), delivered a statement acknowledging the collaborative efforts within the bloc. He specifically expressed gratitude to the Government of Malaysia and its Chief of Defence Forces for their support in the effective implementation of the Cambodia-Thailand ceasefire agreement.
The RCAF Commander-in-Chief also extended his appreciation to all ASEAN member states for allowing their military liaison teams to participate in monitoring the ceasefire.
In his remarks, H.E. General Vong Pisen underscored Cambodia’s unwavering support for the collective roles and joint efforts of ASEAN countries in tackling security challenges and fostering regional stability.
The agenda for ACDFM-22 included national interventions from the defence chiefs, followed by comprehensive discussions on pressing regional and global security issues of shared concern.
The meeting also aimed to foster a collective approach to addressing these challenges, reinforcing the commitment to a peaceful and secure Southeast Asia.
