MOWRAM and ADB to Strengthen Cooperation on Climate-Resilient Water Management

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Cambodia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and expanding cooperation on climate-resilient water management.

The commitment was made during a meeting on Nov. 25 between H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of MOWRAM, and Ms. Yasmin Siddiqi, the newly appointed ADB Country Director for Cambodia.

H.E. Thor Chetha expressed appreciation for ADB’s continued support in modernising Cambodia’s water infrastructure and improving management systems within the water resources and meteorology sector, efforts that are crucial to ensuring national water security amid climate change and global warming.

He also informed Ms. Siddiqi that MOWRAM is currently implementing three ADB-financed investment projects: the Climate-Friendly Agribusiness Value Chains Project (CFAVC), the Irrigated Agriculture Improvement Project (IAIP), and the Integrated Water Resources Management Project (IWRM).
