While some frontlines remain calm, others continue to see active hostilities as Thai forces persist in aggressive attacks against Cambodia, particularly in Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, and Pursat provinces, said the Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence, H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, at a press briefing this morning.
According to the spokeswoman, from yesterday evening until 7:00 a.m. on Dec. 19, Thai forces used heavy weaponry to strike Cambodian ancient temple and civilian areas.
In addition, the Ministry of National Defence confirmed that at 8:48 a.m. today, Thai forces sprayed toxic gas into the area of Chouk Chey village, O’Beichoan commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province.
In response to these acts of aggression, Cambodian forces will continue to closely monitor the situation and remain strong, brave, and steadfast in carrying out their duties to protect Cambodia’s territorial integrity, the spokeswoman said.
She further underlined that Cambodian forces will defend the nation’s dignity with courage and unwavering resolve, at any cost, and will not succumb to coercion or intimidation in any form.
