The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), in collaboration with Ng Teng Fong Foundation, signed on Jan. 13 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for “School Food Safety Campaign” to promote Cambodian child health.
The MoU signing ceremony was held under the presidency of H.E. Dr. Hang Choun Naron, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of MoEYS, at the ministry in Phnom Penh.
Supported by YHS (Cambodia) Food & Beverage Pte Ltd, the campaign aims to promote awareness regarding the healthy consumption of low-sugar beverages among primary and lower secondary school students, and to cultivate the habit of choosing drinks with reduced sugar content.
H.E. Dr. Hang Choun Naron expressed his appreciation and profound gratitude to the company and all stakeholders for their efforts in promoting the health of Cambodian children.
He emphasised that proper, healthy nutrition ensures full physical development, which in turn creates a positive impact on student learning outcomes in public schools.
