H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, has encouraged the private sector to actively collaborate with the Ministry of Commerce to further improve the business and investment environment, as well as to strengthen and expand export-import markets.
She made the call while presiding over a seminar on Domestic Trade and Exports, organised by the International Business Chamber of Cambodia in Phnom Penh on Jan. 28.
The seminar was attended by representatives from national and international businesses and investment communities, along with numerous private sector representatives.
H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul highly appreciated the initiative to organise this important seminar, noting that it provided a valuable platform for private sector representatives to meet, discuss, and exchange views on recent developments in trade, economic, and investment conditions in Cambodia, the region, and globally, as well as to propose solutions to ongoing challenges.
She emphasised the vital role of the private sector in promoting trade and investment, alongside the government’s continued efforts to improve the business and investment climate and to strengthen and expand export-import markets.
The Minister also highlighted key achievements of the Ministry of Commerce in recent years, particularly the modernisation of public service delivery through the issuance of a Prakas on the simplification of business registration procedures, as well as the digitalisation of public service fee payments.
She encouraged all private sector participants to actively engage in the discussions, especially by providing ideas and inputs to support the formulation and dissemination of policies and strategies of the Royal Government, aimed at strengthening supply and value chains, promoting domestic trade activities, and boosting exports.
