CPV General Secretary Kicks Off State Visit to Cambodia


A high-level Vietnamese delegation, led by H.E. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV), arrived in Cambodia this morning for a day-long State Visit, at the invitation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.

According to a press release issued recently by the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the State Visit, His Majesty the King will graciously grant a Royal Audience to H.E. General Secretary TO Lam and host a State Banquet in his honour at the Royal Palace. Her Majesty NORODOM Monineath Sihanouk, the Queen Mother, will also graciously receive H.E. General Secretary TO Lam in Royal Audience at the Royal Palace.

The CPV General Secretary will lay wreaths at the Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM Sihanouk “Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh”, the late King-Father, as well as the Cambodia-Viet Nam Friendship Monument.

H.E. General Secretary TO Lam will also hold a high-level meeting with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

“The State Visit of H.E. General Secretary TO Lam will further strengthen the cordial relations between Cambodia and Viet Nam, underscoring shared commitment to further strengthen and deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation in the spirit of ‘good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-lasting stability’ for development and prosperity of the two nations and peoples,” the press release underlined.
