German Politician Praises Cambodia’s Development

A member of the Executive Board of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Mr. Peter Altmann, has praised Cambodia’s development, describing the Kingdom as a beautiful country and expressing his admiration after witnessing it with his own eyes.

According to Senate Spokesperson H.E. Chea Thyrith, the remarks were made during a meeting here at the Solidarity Palace on Mar. 5 between Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Mr. Peter Altmann, a board member of the AfD.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed Mr. Altmann on his visit to Cambodia and expressed hope that he would enjoy his stay and have the opportunity to observe the country’s beauty as well as its current realities and development.

Mr. Altmann thanked Samdech Techo for granting him the audience, noting that he had previously read about Cambodia’s history and about Samdech Techo through media reports in Europe, particularly in Germany, but that this visit marked his first opportunity to meet the Cambodian leader in person.

He expressed admiration for Samdech Techo’s sacrifices and leadership experience in guiding Cambodia over the years, while also praising the country’s progress and development.

Both sides also discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the future, including between the Cambodian People’s Party and the Alternative for Germany party, as well as broader cooperation between the two countries.
