Cambodia’s Acting Head of State Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen on Monday highlighted the forthcoming 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Denmark, expressing hope for further expansion of bilateral cooperation, a Senate spokesperson said.

The remarks were made during a courtesy call by H.E. Danny Annan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Cambodia, at the Solidarity Palace, according to Senate spokesperson H.E. Chea Thyrith.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed the ambassador and voiced satisfaction with the strong ties between the two countries, expressing hope that bilateral relations would continue to deepen.

He also noted that the upcoming milestone anniversary next year would provide an opportunity for both sides to organize commemorative activities to further strengthen cooperation.

For his part, Ambassador Annan reaffirmed Denmark’s commitment to expanding relations with Cambodia, particularly in political diplomacy as well as in economic, trade and investment cooperation.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen said the partnership still holds considerable untapped potential, especially in the fields of trade, investment and economic development.

During the meeting, the Cambodian leader also touched on current international concerns, including the border situation between Cambodia and Thailand, noting that both sides are maintaining a ceasefire stance.

He reiterated Cambodia’s position that the issue should be resolved through peaceful negotiations.
