Cambodian Senate President Pays Three-day Official Friendship Visit to China


A high-level delegation led by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), departed this morning for the People’s Republic of China for an official friendship visit, at the invitation of the Communist Party of China.

According to H.E. Chea Thyrith, Spokesperson for the Senate, during the visit from June 25 to 27, Samdech Techo is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with H.E. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of China.

He will also hold separate meetings with H.E. Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of China, and H.E. Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China.

In addition, Samdech Techo is expected to pay respects to His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, who are currently in China.

Samdech Techo is accompanied by Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, a Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King and CPP Vice President, along with senior leaders from Cambodia’s legislative institutions and the Royal Government.

“The official friendship visit reflects the unwavering commitment of both Cambodia and China to further strengthening their longstanding ‘ironclad friendship’ and advancing cooperation under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with the shared goal of building a Cambodia-China all-weather community with a shared future in the new era,” underlined the Cambodian Senate.
