Cambodian Ruling Party President Meets Chinese CPC Foreign Affairs Minister to Strengthen Party-to-Party Cooperation


Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), met with H.E. Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), in Beijing on June 25.

According to Senate Spokesperson H.E. Chea Thyrith, H.E. Liu warmly welcomed Samdech Techo and the Cambodian delegation, describing the visit as an important impetus for further strengthening the ironclad friendship between Cambodia and China.

He noted that the Chinese people regard Samdech Techo as a close and trusted friend of China, adding that the announcement of his visit had generated considerable interest and attention among the Chinese public.

H.E. Liu also highlighted the strong cooperation between the two ruling parties, noting that the visit would include the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the CPP and CPC. He expressed confidence that the agreement would further deepen party-to-party ties, particularly in the area of training and developing future generations of party leaders

For his part, Samdech Techo thanked H.E. Liu for the warm hospitality extended to him and the Cambodian delegation.

He noted that 2026 marks the 35th anniversary of his first visit to China and coincides with the 30th anniversary of relations between the CPP and CPC, milestones that reflect the enduring cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

Samdech Techo underscored that party-to-party relations serve as an important guiding framework for government-to-government cooperation and implementation, contributing significantly to the continued development of the Cambodia-China comprehensive strategic partnership and the building of an all-weather community with a shared future in the new era.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen arrived in Beijing on Thursday for a three-day official goodwill visit at the invitation of the Communist Party of China.
