Cambodia, Japan Discuss Bilateral Cooperation Expansion


H.E. Ms. EAT Sophea, Secretary of State at the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) and Advisor to Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, received here at the ministry a courtesy call by H.E. Mrs. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan.

According to the MFAIC, during the meeting, H.E. Ms. EAT Sophea expressed her welcome and appreciation to H.E. Ms. ERI Arfiya for the participation in the Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World in Siem Reap province.

In response, H.E. Ms. ERI Arfiya expressed her thankfulness for warm welcome and cordial hospitality extended to her and the Japanese delegation, especially an opportunity to pay a courtesy call on Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister.

H.E. Ms. EAT Sophea and H.E. Ms. ERI Arfiya discussed the strengthening and deepening of Cambodia-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and the importance of new cooperation approach focusing on three key areas, such as social infrastructure development, maritime connectivity and mine action.

The discussion also covered other important sectors, including politics, economy, democracy promotion and human rights, as well as regional and international developments of common concerns.
