Cambodia, Japan to Further Deepen Relations and Cooperation


Cambodia and Japan will work together to further boost their relations and cooperation for mutual benefits.

This is the spirit of the meeting between Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. FUNAKOSHI Takehiro, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affair of Japan, after attending Cambodia-Japan 2nd Senior Officials Talk in Phnom Penh on Dec. 18, according to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation made public this afternoon.

H.E. Prak Sokhonn informed the visiting Japanese official that he looked forward to working closely with Minister IWAYA to further enhance Cambodia-Japan relations and cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks.

H.E. Deputy Prime Minister thanked Japan for attending the 5th Review Conference of the Ottawa Convention in Siem Reap in November this year and for the good cooperation with Cambodia in the area of mine actions.

The Cambodian top diplomat touched on cooperation in areas of strategic interest and applauded the fruitful outcome of Cambodia-Japan 2nd Senior Officials Talk. He also exchanged views with H.E. FUNAKOSHI on international and regional developments.
