Cambodian Information Minister Invited to Join 4th Patria International Colloquium in Cuba

H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information of Cambodia, has been invited to participate in the 4th Patria International Colloquium to be held in Cuba in March this year.

The invitation was extended by H.E. Mrs. Milena Caridad Zaldivar Piedra, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of Cambodia, to H.E. Minister in their meeting here at the ministry this morning.

H.E. Neth Pheaktra thanked the Cuban side for the invitation and pledged to take it into consideration.

Scheduled to take place in La Havana from Mar. 17 to 19, the 4th Patria International Colloquium will seek to explore how the dynamics of power are being transformed in an interconnected world in which, along with the unprecedented possibilities of social interaction and exchange, disinformation, hate speech and various forms of manipulation proliferate.

Besides, H.E. Minister and H.E. Ambassador spoke highly of the cooperation between the two countries’ news agencies – Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP) and Prensa Latina (PL) – in bridging the Cambodian and Cuban people.

They also discussed the plan to organise a joint photo exhibition to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Cambodia-Cuba diplomatic relations (April 15, 1960 – April 15, 2025).

H.E. Minister recalled the good ties of friendship and cooperation between both countries as well as Cuba’s assistance to Cambodia after the country’s liberation from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime.
