Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received separately in Manila yesterday afternoon the delegations of three private Philippine companies, during his two-day official visit to the Philippines.
In his courtesy call on the Cambodian Premier, Mr. Ramon S. Ang, President and CEO of San Miguel Corporation, said his company is interested in investing in major infrastructure projects in Cambodia as the Kingdom has high competitive advantages, along with skilled workforce, favourable location, allowing the country to connect well to other countries in the region and the world.
For his part, Mr. Dai Jianlaing, President of Excellent Associates Group Limited, expressed his interest in exploring investment opportunities in industrial and agro-industrial parks, as well as rice processing and export to key markets such as Hong Kong, China, and other markets because Cambodian rice is of high quality and has won the World’s Best Rice title for many consecutive years.
In the meeting with Dr. Raymond Patrick V. Guico, President & Chief Executive Officer of World Citi Group, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between World Citi Group and the Asia-Europe University of Cambodia at the opening of the Philippines-Cambodia Business Forum. He highly appreciated the company’s interest in investing in Cambodia, especially in the fields of health education and vocational training.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet informed the three companies of key and strategic sectors for investment in Cambodia, including agriculture, agro-industry, health, and so on.
The Prime Minister added that the Royal Government of Cambodia supports, facilitates, and creates a favourable environment aimed at promoting investment and the success of companies in Cambodia.
A high-level Cambodian delegation led by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and First Lady, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony arrived in Manila on Feb. 10 for a two-day official visit, at the invitation of H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines.
