Four hundred vulnerable families in Banteay Meanchey province received essential humanitarian aid on June 4, thanks to a mission led by H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Honorary President of the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) Banteay Meanchey branch.
The beneficiaries, including unsupported elderly individuals, people with disabilities, and others facing severe hardship, gathered for the distribution event, which drew participants from four districts and city: Preah Netr Preah, Mongkul Borey, O’ Chrov, and Serey Sophorn.
H.E. Dith Tina reiterated his steadfast commitment to mobilising resources for humanitarian activities, emphasising the CRC’s dedication to alleviating the suffering of the most vulnerable in the community.
He underscored that this initiative exemplifies the CRC’s spirit of solidarity and compassion for the well-being of all Cambodian citizens.
Each of the 400 families received a relief package containing: 25 kg of rice, one case of instant noodles, one box of canned fish, one pack of fish sauce, one blanket, one mosquito net, one sarong and one traditional Khmer scarf (krama), and a cash donation.
These provisions are intended to help ease daily struggles and demonstrate the CRC’s ongoing generosity and support for those in need.
On behalf of Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the CRC, H.E. Dith Tina conveyed heartfelt greetings and warm regards, highlighting Samdech’s profound concern for the livelihoods and welfare of vulnerable citizens nationwide.
In his remarks, H.E. Dith Tina stressed the critical importance of humanitarian work and the pivotal role of the Banteay Meanchey Red Cross branch in assisting those affected by hardship.
“We are truly pleased to bring these humanitarian gifts to our people today,” he stated. “These donations reflect the deep compassion of the Cambodian Red Cross and the unwavering care of Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, who always thinks of our people’s needs. While the aid may not be large in quantity, it can help ease part of their burden. We pledge to continue mobilising support to assist even more families in the future.”
He also extended gratitude to all generous donors whose contributions enabled the smooth and effective execution of this humanitarian mission.
This initiative clearly demonstrates the vital role of the Cambodian Red Cross in responding to the needs of vulnerable populations and actively contributing to building a resilient, compassionate, and inclusive society in Cambodia.
