H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), today led a delegation to meet and express solidarity with frontline troops stationed along the Cambodia-Thailand border in Oddar Meanchey province.
The visit, which took place this morning at the Headquarters of Military Region 4’s Division 3, saw H.E. Sun Chanthol warmly welcomed by General Keo Thy, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army and Commander of the 2nd Intervention Division, alongside H.E. Mean Chanyada, Governor of Oddar Meanchey province.
Speaking on behalf of the entire CDC staff, H.E. Sun Chanthol extended heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to commander, deputy commanders, soldiers, and armed forces for their tireless service and bravery in defending the nation’s sovereignty. He also provided financial support and essential supplies to boost the troops’ morale and well-being.
The Deputy Prime Minister, representing the Royal Government, commended the soldiers’ heroic sacrifices in safeguarding national territory around the clock, often under challenging and remote conditions. He emphasised that the CDC’s visit was not merely a show of material support but also a powerful symbol of national unity, connecting the frontline with the home front as one Cambodian people, sharing one destiny.
H.E. Sun Chanthol reaffirmed the Royal government’s unwavering commitment to resolving any border disputes peacefully and in accordance with international law, while firmly upholding Cambodia’s sovereignty. He stressed that while Cambodia respects the sovereignty of neighbouring countries, it will not tolerate any threats or violations of its own territorial integrity.
“We stand united with the Royal Government in all forms and capacities to ensure that we protect peace, territorial integrity, and national sovereignty—no matter the cost,” the Deputy Prime Minister declared.
