The Cambodian Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT) and Agir pour le Cambodge have signed an agreement to provide free hospitality training for underprivileged Cambodian youth through the Hotel School, Restaurant School, and Hospitality Vocational Training project.
The agreement was inked on July 9 at the MoLVT office in Phnom Penh by H.E. Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, and Mr. Jérôme l’Hour, Country Director of Agir pour le Cambodge.
H.E. Heng Sour spoke highly of the initiative, stressing that it is as a significant step toward expanding and improving the quality of technical and vocational education in Cambodia’s hotel and hospitality sector.
He noted that the agreement reflects strong collaboration between the two sides in sharing knowledge and experiences in the field of hospitality.
“I hope this agreement will help strengthen the capacity of trainers and instructors in the hotel and hospitality industry to better meet the demands of the current job market,” the Minister added.
Mr. Jérôme l’Hour echoed the Minister’s sentiments and reaffirmed his commitment to deepening cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia, through the MoLVT, to help transfer international-standard knowledge and skills to Cambodian youth.
He also expressed his appreciation to the Minister and the MoLVT leadership for supporting the Hotel School, Restaurant School, and Hospitality Vocational Training project, saying it would make a meaningful contribution to building a skilled workforce for Cambodia’s growing tourism sector.
