Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak received here on Sept. 11 a courtesy call by Mr. Arturo Planell, Senior Vice President for Southeast Asia of Visa Worldwide Pte. Limited.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, the meeting focused on the practical implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Tourism Sector, that was signed last year on Sept. 10.
H.E. Minister expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for Visa’s past cooperation and support in promoting Cambodia’s tourism potential.
He highlighted Cambodia’s peace, political and social stability, economic growth, and strong public order as key factors that continue to benefit both visitors and the global community.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the areas of cooperation outlined in the MoU, including supporting the Ministry’s project to develop a smart tourism system that leverages modern digital technologies and data for greater efficiency, safety, and security.
They also explored the feasibility of collaborating on the establishment of a Tourism Satellite Account to strengthen data-driven tourism development.
