The Ministry of National Defence has reported that the number of civilians displaced by the Thai military’s aggressive attacks in Military Regions 4 and 5 reached 16,598 families, or 54,550 people, as of 11:00 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2025.
According to the same source, seven civilians have been killed and 20 others injured. Oddar Meanchey province recorded three deaths and eight injuries; Banteay Meanchey reported one death and two injuries; while Preah Vihear registered three deaths and ten injuries.
Of the displaced population, approximately 12,996 people are now in Oddar Meanchey province, 13,056 in Preah Vihear province, 13,686 in Banteay Meanchey province, 3,736 in Pursat province, and 11,076 in Siem Reap province.
Since Dec. 7, the Thai military has renewed attacks on Cambodian territory and expanded to many locations in Preah Vihear, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Battambang and Pursat provinces, involving heavy weapons, F-16 fighter jets, and toxic gas. These attacks have reportedly caused civilian casualties, damaged homes, temples, and health centers, forced the closure of hundreds of schools, and displaced thousands of civilians along the border.
