Thai Military Expands Aggression with Airstrikes on Poipet City


Thai military forces expanded their campaign of aggression this morning, launching airstrikes against Poipet city in Banteay Meanchey province, located within Cambodia’s Military Region 5.

According to a news release from the Ministry of National Defence, Thai military forces deployed F-16 fighter jets at 11:06 a.m. on Dec. 18, dropping two bombs on Poipet city.

Cambodia strongly condemns these illegal and brutal actions. The Royal Government reaffirms that the heroic Cambodian Army and National Police remain steadfast, brave, and vigilant in the face of this aggression.

Cambodia continues to exercise its right to self-defence, as enshrined in international law, and remains committed to protecting Cambodian territorial integrity and its people at all costs.
