CRC President Joins Relief Effort for Displaced Families

Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), joined volunteer teams on Wednesday afternoon to pack emergency supplies for thousands of families displaced by recent developments and currently sheltering in safety camps.

The humanitarian push, which saw the packing of 8,000 additional relief kits over Monday and Tuesday, underscores an escalating aid operation led by Cambodia’s political elite.

Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen—spouse of Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen—worked alongside volunteers to assemble packages containing food and daily essentials.

Organisers confirmed that as of Dec. 16, a total of 22,600 households across multiple camps had received aid. The latest distribution included 3,000 packages on Monday and 5,000 on Tuesday, funded by donations from Samdech Techo Hun Sen; Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen; Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and his spouse, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony.

The CRC President’s active participation follows a Monday visit to Phnom Penh hospitals, where she met with wounded soldiers receiving treatment.

In a statement, the CRC said the ongoing mission reflects a “continued commitment to alleviating the suffering of displaced communities” and ensuring the timely delivery of humanitarian support.
