Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), said Cambodia and China are ironclad friends and a community of shared destiny in all seasons of the new era, underscoring the depth and durability of relations between the two countries.
Samdech Techo made the remarks on the afternoon of Monday (Dec. 22) at the CPP’s headquarters during a meeting with Professor Xie Chuntao, Vice President of the Central Party School of the Chinese Communist Party (CCPS) and member of the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC).
CPP spokesperson Chea Thyrith said Samdech Techo highlighted the strong and enduring bonds between Cambodia and China, reaffirming that the two nations are ironclad friends with a shared destiny that continues to deepen in the new era.
During the meeting, Samdech Techo warmly welcomed Professor Xie Chuntao and his delegation on their official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, noting that the visit followed an invitation extended during his official trip to China in December 2024.
He said the visit provides a valuable opportunity to further expand bilateral relations, particularly within the broader framework of Cambodia–China cooperation and party-to-party ties between the CPP and the CPC.
Professor Xie Chuntao expressed his gratitude to Samdech Techo for the opportunity to meet and exchange views, praising the current Cambodia–China relationship as a close and strategic partnership. He noted the steady growth of cooperation between the two ruling parties and voiced hope that the visit would further strengthen friendship and mutual trust.
Professor Xie also recalled past collaboration, including reciprocal visits by party officials and cooperation in human resource development, describing these efforts as key pillars that have brought the two countries and their ruling parties closer together.
On the occasion, Samdech Techo welcomed the progress in party-to-party cooperation and expressed his hope that it would continue to deepen. He encouraged both sides to further enhance cooperation through more frequent exchanges of party delegations and expanded collaboration in human resource development.
Lastly, Samdech Techo Hun Sen conveyed his best wishes to Professor Xie Chuntao and his delegation for a successful and fruitful visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
