The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Lithuania have discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation in education, a key pillar for human resource development and sustainable growth.
The discussion took place on Jan. 13 in Phnom Penh between H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, and H.E. Darius Gaidys, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
During the meeting, H.E. Darius Gaidys highlighted the importance of continued collaboration in fostering friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the field of education.
The Lithuanian Ambassador pledged to explore additional avenues for educational cooperation with Cambodia, including the provision of scholarships, cultural and experience exchange programmes, and other collaborative initiatives, with the aim of making bilateral cooperation deeper and more effective in the future.
For his part, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron congratulated H.E. Darius Gaidys on his appointment as Ambassador to Cambodia and expressed confidence that, during his diplomatic tenure, relations and cooperation between the two countries would continue to expand and yield tangible results. He emphasised that enhanced collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia and relevant Lithuanian institutions would bring mutual benefits to the peoples of both nations.
