Cambodia Lauds Strong Bonds of Friendship with Lao PDR and Singapore


Deputy Prime Minister H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held an informal Meeting with H.E. Thongsavan PHOMVIHANE, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao DPR on Cebu Island, Philippines on Jan. 29, on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the meeting, both Foreign Ministers expressed their satisfaction with the strong bonds of friendship between the two nations.

On this occasion, both sides emphasised the significance of 2026, which marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. They further expressed strong commitment in working closely together in preparing meaningful activities to celebrate this historic milestone.

Alongside strengthening bilateral cooperation, the two Foreign Ministers also took the opportunity to exchange in-depth views on key regional and international issues of common interests and concerns.

On the same day, the Cambodian top diplomat also met with H.E. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, to exchange views on strengthening bilateral ties as well as regional and international issues of common interest.

Both Foreign Ministers expressed their deep satisfaction with the existing cooperation across all fields and looked forward to exploring new avenues to further deepen bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

Additionally, both sides discussed preparations for the upcoming visit of H.E. PRAK Sokhonn to Singapore, scheduled to take place in the first quarter of this year.
