H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, received here on April 6 a delegation from the Textile, Apparel, Footwear & Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC), led by Mr. He Enjia, President of TAFTAC.
The meeting focused on a renewed commitment to promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible industrial development in the country.
During the discussions, H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth emphasised the importance of collaboration between the Ministry of Environment and TAFTAC to advance green industry practices.
He highlighted that companies can remain profitable while reducing pollution, thereby protecting public health and the environment.
“Clean, green, and sustainable practices are at the heart of Cambodia’s industrial strategy,” he said.
H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth also noted that green industrial investment aligns closely with the Royal Government’s broader economic modernisation plans under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet.
Mr. He Enjia welcomed the support and expressed TAFTAC’s commitment to adopting environmentally friendly technologies across Cambodia’s textile, apparel, footwear, and travel goods sectors.
The meeting sets the stage for strengthened public-private partnerships aimed at promoting sustainable industrial growth and positioning Cambodia as a regional leader in green manufacturing.
