Cambodia and Israel have pledged to swiftly implement a bilateral labour pact to ensure the safe, orderly deployment of Cambodian workers to Israel, officials confirmed Thursday.
Following talks on Wednesday, Labour and Vocational Training Minister H.E. Heng Sour and Israeli non-resident Ambassador H.E. Ms. Alona Fisher-Kamm agreed to accelerate the operational rollout of the agreement signed on Dec. 1, 2025. The deal creates a transparent framework for recruiting Cambodians for temporary jobs in Israel’s agriculture and other sectors.
“This establishes an official mechanism for safe and transparent labour mobility,” H.E. Heng Sour said, affirming Cambodia’s readiness to work with Israeli authorities.
In response, H.E. Ms. Alona Fisher-Kamm praised Cambodian agricultural trainees for their past diligence and voiced confidence that workers would benefit Israeli employers.
Both sides committed to close coordination for rapid deployment and discussed expanding cooperation into high-demand fields.
Cambodia also sought Israeli expertise in smart agriculture, water tech, green innovation, STEM education, and startups to boost its workforce and economic productivity.
