H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), received a courtesy call and held a working discussion with an international business delegation from Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong on Aug. 19.
The delegation comprised business partners of local companies Bayon Heritage Holding Group and Signature Rice Co., Ltd., according to the CDC.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the international business representatives to gain a deeper understanding of Cambodia’s investment potential, investment incentive policies and facilitation measures being implemented by the Royal Government of Cambodia.
The discussions focused on exploring potential joint-venture opportunities in key sectors, particularly agro-industry, food processing and agricultural produce processing, including paddy rice and cashew nuts.
The potential investments are expected to contribute to increasing exports of Cambodian products to regional and global markets.
The delegation also explored investment opportunities in infrastructure development and logistics systems, which are considered important to strengthening Cambodia’s supply chains and supporting economic growth.
Representatives of the participating companies briefed H.E. Sun Chanthol and the meeting on their respective business operations, products, areas of specialisation, investment backgrounds in Cambodia and partnerships with Bayon Heritage Holding Group and Signature Rice Co., Ltd. They also shared their plans and vision for expanding their investment activities in Cambodia.
H.E. Sun Chanthol warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for the international business community’s interest in Cambodia’s investment environment and development opportunities.
The Deputy Prime Minister underlined the Royal Government’s strong commitment to creating a competitive and favourable business environment to attract and facilitate investment.
He reaffirmed that the CDC stands ready to provide necessary facilitation and support to qualified investment projects, enabling investors to translate their investment plans into actual business operations and contributing to Cambodia’s socio-economic development.
