Samdech Heng Samrin Receives Second Shot of COVID-19 Vaccine

National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin and his wife received their second vaccinations against the virus that causes COVID-19 on Monday.

Samdech Heng Samrin and Samdech Thomvisuth Vongsa Sao Ty got their AstraZeneca shots at the National Assembly — two months after receiving their first shots at Calmette Hospital on Mar. 5.

The National Assembly president expressed deep thanks and sincere appreciation to the Royal Government for getting vaccines to people free of charge with a target of vaccinating 10 million in the near future.

He also thanked friendly countries, especially China, the international community and development partners — including the World Health Organisation and the COVAX initiative — for their generous financial and medical support.

Samdech Heng Samrin reminded people to continue strict compliance with the “three do’s” and “three dont’s” after getting vaccinated.

He also stressed that the pandemic was still rampant across the world.

“To achieve success in fighting the virus, each of us has to actively participate and be committed,” he said.
