Qatar Airways has revealed its plan of launching direct flights to Cambodia, stressing to it will launch promotional airfare programmes to attract travellers to Cambodia.
The information was shared by Mr. Boru Tilahun Ejetta, Regional Manager for Indochina at Qatar Airways in a meeting here on May 19 with H.E. Huot Hak, Cambodian Minister of Tourism.
The meeting focused on tourism cooperation between Cambodia and Qatar Airways, including plans to launch direct flights between Cambodia and Qatar, and collaboration on producing promotional videos to highlight Cambodia’s tourism potential.
The partnership would contribute to promoting Cambodia’s tourism destinations through various in-flight media such as magazines, brochures, and tourism videos.
As a result of the important and fruitful meeting, Qatar Airways will assist in promoting Cambodia’s key tourist destinations—particularly Siem Reap—to boost the flow of visitors between the two countries and from third countries.
Additionally, the airline will help promote Cambodia’s destinations during the “Green Season” and support the connection of flights to other high-potential tourism areas in Cambodia.
This includes launching promotional airfare programmes to attract travellers to Cambodia, and co-producing short videos highlighting the Green Season and Muslim-friendly tourism destinations, which will be shared on Qatar Airways’ official platforms.
Qatar Airways resumed daily flight service to Phnom Penh International Airport on Oct. 29, 2023, after suspending operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with an aim to tap into Cambodia’s resurgent tourism sector.
Currently, Qatar Airways operates daily flight service between Doha and Cambodia via Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
